people seem to be more into a car's gadgets than a car itself. Here's an example. I was giving a friend a ride recently and he was telling me how his Accord lease is up soon and he was considering his alternatives. He was leaning heavily towards leasing or even buying a new car as oppposed to buying a better quality/higher end used car, primarily because of things like in-dash navigation systems, stereos, etc. Then he looked around and didn't see a CD slot and asked me, incredulously, how I could drive a car without a CD player. I told him there was a factory 6-CD changer in the trunk and that seemed to make the car a little better in his eyes, though the fact that my SID didn't show the name of the album, song and running time was clearly a deficiency in the car. Never mind that you could hear the turbo singing while we were zipping in and out of traffic, the fact remained my dashboard was clearly not impressive enough looking for him to even consider an "older" car.
