Ever wonder what was meant by a close ratio gearbox? The American Rabbit GTIs defined that. 90hp, zippy exhaust, 3,000revs at 60mph in top gear, the car had a zippy energy like a wound up spring, tossable handling, great sport seats. The one pictured looks black with the red interior, mine was white with the blue interior. Historically the first American pocket rocket. The Golf II continued in this style for 1985 - 1987 and then the car got decontented eventually becoming only a GT and Mexican production.
