200 miles, and you're ready for new $17,000 bike?

didn't you just get your motorcycle license?
I would not recommend running out and buying a new bike, especially one as expensive as a K1200GT. Have you priced insurance and plates? Can you do your own maintenance?
Even though I've lobbed a few arrows at BMW's on this forum in the past, I'll admit that they are nice bikes with their attributes, and maybe money is insignificant to you, so you won't care when you drop that $17,000 bike in your driveway.
However, if you really want a sport-tourer, but your experience still makes you a beginner, consider a 94-97 VFR750. Should be able to find a nice one for $4000 or less. The engines are bullet-proof in these things, and the VFR has owned the sport-touring category honors for decades. Better yet, step up to 98-01 VFR800. Plenty of them for less than $6000.
Concours would be another lower-cost option, but you're giving up a lot of sport in your sport-tourer for one of those. Even BMW's are sportier.
