When life throws me a curveball I always turn to saabnet. I am currently on the job market and entertaining 2 different offers. One is a support position for a software company based in the UK (I’m in the Southwest US). The office is 5 miles from my home and the company is growing like crazy. Growth opportunity and chance for future advancement. This all sounds too good to be true, right? Well when it comes to me there is always a downside. The position involves working rotating shifts. The other job is a field service position that would involve me running all over town but I do get to sleep in my own bed at night. They both pay about the same.
Since I’ve worked in a field service capacity before I know all the advantages as well as the pitfalls. What I haven’t done though is subjected my body to rotating shifts. I did work an occasional overnight shift back in my 20’s but I’m approaching 40 here and I’m not sure if my body can handle it. Any thoughts/insight/advice? I really value everyone’s opinion on this site. Thanks all!
