I had a series of Nokia 6300 phones, all built like tanks ,with excellent sound etc. Unfortunately I drove over the last one with my 9-5, the display face cracked and didn,t show the numbers, but the case was intact! I wanted to get a flipphone ,I got a Motorola V551 . The features were there ,on paper. The parts were flimsy, assembly so so, the reception was extremely variable, minimal within a few feet away, which was a great pain. As a workhorse it was a big disappointment.
Thanks to the advice of the people on this site, I sought out a Nokia 3220. Its not a flip phone,it does not have Bluetooth nor E mail function which I dont need it for.BUT as a workhorse 24 hours around the clock in my business ,its been quite fantastic. The build quality is good, it has taken a few falls and its fine, the sound reception is excellent, I love the lights going on if it rings, for mute function in meetings. The buttons are logically placed. I travel the same routes as always and i have none of the painful cutting out I had with the V551. The removable transparent plate in the back is extremely handy, for placement of your I.D. if its lost. I examined so many sets including LG Samsung Erriccson Kyocera,Siemens and I will take any time another Nokia as long as they build a clearly hardier set.
