Drive down to Zermatt, leave car at the parking lot and enter a vehicle free village/town for the week. Explore shops, restaurants, go hiking on the glacier in the summer, climb Klein Matterhorn (that's the Junior one) stop mid valley at a farmers shack for a few drinks and then head back below the clouds to town via the elaborate gondola system or on foot or by mountain bike. Zermatt has spas, casinos, ice rinks, discos, bars, pastry shoppes and should provide 4-7 days worth of entertainment. You can also spend the night in Europes highest hotel high atop the peaks or see the Alps at sunrise; It's a very humbling experience.
You can then go for a day trip to the other side of lake Geneva and tour Chateau Chillion (?) in the town of Montreux on the shores of Lake Geneva or dive in deeper to the many museums and..yes more casinos. Enjoy the Swiss Riviera! Montreux is strategically situated close to France, Italy and the canton of Ticino - switzerlands premier summer desitnation.
Tidbit: Remember Smoke on the Water by deep Purpule? They recorded it in a converted residential property in Geneva overlooking the lake..while smoke billowed from a famous casino fire in Montreux; theres a huge statue of Freddie Mercury there too! They got booted from the studio and did not get to finish their album there...I believe they finished it up in the states. Walk along the lake in palm lines walking paths or take a dinner cruise to France! Hop in your car and drive 100 miles to Northern Italy...take the St. Bernard tunnel and cross the same pass Napoleon traversed a long long time ago...Lago Maggiore, Lago Lugano, Torino, Milan are all within hours drive.
Also in the vicinity, right past the village of Evian is a town called Verbier. Verbier, is the freeride capital of the world in the winter..in teh summer it transforms into a hikers paradise. Plenty of gentle meadows and bowls to explore around the village and for the hardcore fans there is an adjacent glacier; Mt. Fort.
Switzerland is an experience. The town os Zermatt, is a world destination, and as such almost everyone speaks English. Similarly you should not have problems in the many casinos and museums in Montreux. If you really like museums you can always take the fast SBB rail to Bern and tour Kunsy Museum and the Monet expos....
ah just go already! :)
