We burn "fossil" fuel (actually carbonaceous fuel, as hydrocarbons coming from under ground have little to do with fossils) not because it's fun to do so but because it is the cheapest liquid fuel. If burning, say, paper pulp goo is cheaper, motorists would long have been mashing up toilet paper in buckets to power their cars even if the act is illegal and tantamount to evading road tax; it is already being carried out with much fan fare in the used cooking oil biodiesel cottage industry. If private Swedish citizens faced with several times the gasoline tax that we do in the states still can not find any viable cheaper source even with tax evasion implied and built-in, what are the chances that the all-powerful government can find a solution with the high taxation on top of it? Surely no one is suggesting that the constituency that is currently feeding off the gasoline tax will be left out in the nordic cold when the government sponsored green fuel comes to fruition, if ever.
"Ministry for sustainable development"? What kind of Orwellian space-filler is that? What happend to the good old "Ministry of Development"? Are they not relegated to coming up with "unsustainable" boon-dongles only? What a transparent effort to justify someone's existence on the government payroll and transfer of tax payer money to industry/bookworms favored by government bureacrats.
Sweden used to be one of the richest countries in Europe, with many Fins and Norwegians working in the country as domestic helps. Nowadays, Swede nannies are the cheapest source of domestic helps you can find that can speak fluent English.
