Unless you're contracting out some of the work, making a complete demo to the studs & starting over will be much more than a summer project. And depending on your locale, 2x4 studs would probably not be what you would want to make a newer home anyway.
I have not taken on this Herculean task myself, but have helped others do things like raise a house to put a second story underneath, demo one part of a house & rebuild, make an addition, etc. With quickly raising energy prices, I would recommend completely new technology, including thicker walls, better windows & the like. Of course it's your money.
You may first want to check into loan costs & requirements for building from scratch, handling your onw contract & timing requirements for that. etc.
God uluck!
