The six is really good....but, 180 lbs heavier. Fact is, that is what most consumers are buying in So.Cal. according to the dealer I asked.
My '97 Aero auto with the SQR stage 3 is on par with the 9-3 six....maybe a little quicker. What surprised me about the six I drove was the shift points on the auto during moderate driving. They seemed high...around 3,500 to 3,700 rpm. By comparison..my car shifts at 2,700 to 3,200 rpm.
The 9-3 turbo six is a really nice car though. Would'nt want to be the guy that has to service it. No room under the hood.
