So I'll ask it here, and see if it moves to the "other cars" or "OG900 & 9^3" boards.
I am at a crossroads regarding my C900 Slush-o-matic. Seems like I have some choices and would like some input from the group here.
Should I spend the money to fix my C900 or trade up? My C900 needs some work. I could dump another $2000 into my current car, and still have to eventually do a headgasket. I don't have all cash so it will mean some car payments, plus what other repairs are needed if I trade.
The cars I have in mind are a 1999 9^3 T5 with 44,000 miles, 3 door hatch for about $9900, or a 1997 Mercedes E320 with 157,000 miles for $10,500. Car #1 has no bad history that I am aware of, (based on classified information) and car #2 has every service record since new, and was owned by the service manager at the Porsche dealer.
I will go for a pre-purchase inspection before I buy anything.
I see both positive and negative for both.
My thought would be the service records trump the low mileage.
Some dealers capitalize of the emotion of the buyer. I am trying to be logical about this. The cars are at the same dealership. He doesn't sell many SAABS, catering to mostly BMW and Benz crowds.
Thanks for your response. I am confident that someone will say something that will sway me one way or the other. Turbo...Mike Lynch....Others??

900S 232,000 miles (both would go)
