...as long as you have A/C in this heat, drive.
2500 miles is about 40-45 hours driving. It is 300 dollars in fuel depending on speed and tranny. With 2 people non-stop it is 2 days. With one person it is 3 days with 2 included pit stops. I drove that kind of distance once, and had a hoot. I had a CB, a cell phone, and a AAA map. I kept in constant communication with the truckers, and they allowed me to draft off them (saving gas money). They also hooked me up with great diners and told me which were the bad and the good hotels. I also got to see America, cities, farms, parks, and great people.
Now if you mean 2500 miles as in Italy or France, I don't suggest driving at all unless you have an Amphicar, but that is IMHO.
