a couple of qualifying questions.

are *you* going to end up at the destination of the car?
have you ever driven 'cross country'?
do you have the time?
do you have relative and/or friends you could visit along the way?

if you aren't going where the car is... you have to fly back if you drive. if you *are* going where the car is you will fly if you don't drive...

driving across country, is you car in good condition (tires, cooling, tune up, AC, all the usual suspects) there is a cost here to make sure ok for a long trip (not daily driver to work trip here... Going alone or got company? If you have time it's good to see the sites you may otherwise fly over (east and west).

If you have relatives and/or friends to visit (and the time) along the way you could save on lodging and food!
