Stuff like this really cracks me up.
The US Dept of Inferior makes a point about improperly adjusted side mirrors.....about 40 years late.
They view accidents and near misses while using cell phones (....please, someone help me!!!) is a rear view mirror issue?
First off, any knucklehead can figure out how to adjust a rear view mirror.....sit in your seat, get in your normal driving position, adjust the mirror to cover the blind spots, if possible. If this is difficult to do without an object as reference...use a friend to help.
Now.....The US Dept of Inferior should have concluded that driving and talking on a cell phone is not a very smart thing to do.
The facts are clear that the human mind is not capable of multi tasking as once thought. Introducing another mind switch in a driving enviroment is dangerous. You could have perfect rear mirror adjustment, cameras or what ever and still not un-complicate the additional thoughts required to judge and react.
Cell phones need to be outlawed while driving.
My opinions are based on observations while driving in So. Cal. among all of the soccer/cell moms, lawyers, real estate sales people and movers and shakers. I see some really silly driving everyday.....mostly due to a cell phone. Ever watch a mom conversing on a cell phone, keeping three kids under control and driving an SUV try to negotiate a tight parking lot?
