Thanks for your interesting post. My father is in Sweden today picking up his 6th SAAB (1st ever for Euro delivery). I don't have all of the details handy, but they had an AWFUL time dealing with SAAB USA to arrange this. Their local dealer was great, but the SAAB contact person in the USA who coordinates the Euro Delivery was just horrible. The materials barely arrived in time and it caused them a lot of stress. Numerous phone calls not returned, promises made that packet was in the mail, etc. My mom nearly pulled the plug on the whole deal. The SAAB person was not very apologetic at all and basically just blamed it on her overworkload. Give me a break.
Fortunately, they emailed a few hours ago that they picked up the car and all is well, BUT the experience to get this far was like pulling teeth. I should add that their dealer also made several calls to SAAB USA on their behalf to try to speed it along and they got equally poor treatment.
I'll try to post back with more info in a few weeks after they are home and I can really fill in the blanks about what went wrong in advance. They will be fascinated to hear that someone else had a pretty poor pre-period too.
