Hot tubs are great, I don't think you'll regret the purchase. One recommendation: get an easy to remove cover or cover helper. I had a custom cover on mine that was easy for one person to remove. I think I used it a lot more often because of that convenience.
I don't actually know if this is actually true, but I once had a roommate who was in med school who said that one of the two biggest indicators of getting sick was having or frequently using a hot tub (the other one was pregnancy, fyi). If you screw up the water can get gross quick, however it's easy to stay on top of water maintenance. I ran mine with bromine, but tubs can also have ozonators that make things even simpler and there are a bunch of alternative treatments that work well too. I found taking care of the tub was easier than taking care of a pool. Spadepot.com is a very helpful site that I'd recommend checking out.
Have you ruled out an outdoor installation? I enjoyed the tub the most when the weather outside was cold. Also, mine developed a few very minor leaks (at about 10 years of age) but they were non-issues being outside (a couple I fixed, some weren't worth it). You might also want to check for used tubs; they tend to depreciate very quickly. I found mine on Craig's List. I moved it myself, which I don't think I'd recommend. The cost from pros to move it was about $300 in my area. The wiring wasn't bad to install. Home Depot, etc. actually sell kits with the sub panel and most of what you need.
I don't have much to add about an indoor installation. The top does seem to seal quit tightly, but they do put out a lot of humidity when in use.
Enjoy the tub!
