There are certainly a wide variety of opinions on every medical subject, so you can read just about anything about anything. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a weak acid, with a pKa of 4.2 (slightly more acidic than acetic acid). In the presence of the normal hydrochloric acid in your stomach, with a gastric pH of about 1, the contribution to the acidity of your gastric juices by ascorbic acid would be about zero.
Also, there is a difference between acidity of the stomach contents and reflux. Reflux is a functional problem. Whether reflux can be induced by taking vitamin C - I've not heard of this.
Now, I'm a sports medicine doctor, not a gastroenterologist, but I've observed that the approach used by gastroenterologists for reflux - to use anti-acid drugs (e.g., prilosec) results in the patient being on these permanently. I'd look for someone who can provide a non-pharmacologic solution - diet change, sleeping position, that kind of thing, before considering drugs. So I'd agree that you should see a doctor, but beware of any doctor who categorically thinks that all vitamin supplmentation is inappropriate or dangerous. I've met a few, and thankfully they're in the minority.
