I imagine they sometimes share parts but as an insider what's your opinion on brand?

For a home PC I think 1/2 compared to 1/3 is significant...especially when you can buy, cool, and purchase electricity to run one less drive over the lifetime of the PC (compared to a 0+1 setup of near equal capacity). Just my opinion.
