Did the spy museum this past summer, the kids liked it, as did I. Kind of expensive, but if you give yourself 2+ hours for it, you'll probably find it worth it, if you're into that kind of thing.
You've GOT to do the Library of Congress, beautiful building.
Don't bother driving into DC, take the Metro. It is incredible.
If into air travel, the new Smithsonian out by Dulles Airport, is unbelievable. They've got the Space Shuttle Enterprise out there, a SR-71, the Enola Gay, and everything before, after, and in between.
There is SO much to see there, enjoy (and use the Metro).
