I have been shopping around for one of those too. I found that CNET was very helpful, they had lots of good reviews. It really depends on your price range. My mother and I shopped around a bit because it's my Christmas gift and we ended up with a Magellan Roadmate 300, which is on the cheap end, but it's supposedly still pretty nice. She got it at Radio Shack on Black Friday for $200 with a rebate, I think it's around $350 regularly. You may want to look at this one, or a Navman F20 if you're "budgetly challenged" or look at the Garmin Nuvi series if you want to spend more. I would let you know how the Roadmate works but I can't open it until Christmas. :(
