220V AC like found in most parts of the world is actually less dangerous than 110V because it needs less current (amps) to get the same amount of power. The fuses are usually at 10-13 AMPs. Also, most 220V countries have mandated ground fault interrupters that shuts off the power immediately when it detects a short (like when you get shocked).
110V and 15AMPS is plenty enough to kill you if it's across the chest or you get more than a very short zap. Even then it can give you very dangerous cardiac arrhythmias and you should see a doctor.
