That website excerpt is a little off-point. In an emergency situation that requires immediate removal of a ring, one would want this to be handled at the emergency responder level before being taken to the hospital. The question should not be whether jewelry shops or hospitals can remove titanium/tungsten rings, but whether the typical ambulance has the necesary equipment or tool. (I'm not necessarily advocating staying away from the materials for this reason, just noting that for those concerned with ease of removal I think that website missed the issue. I am speaking here from some experience, as I know EMS members who have had to remove rings and a good friend of mine had to have her ring removed at the scene of the accident.)
