Last week, a car ran into the house and the driver ran away leaving the car. The car owner claims the car and car keys were stolen from her. She says she didn't even know the car was gone. She said that she does not have car insurance and that the car was not being driven.
The car was towed by the police. The woman saw the car, believes it's totaled and doesn't want the car.
She is refusing to pay for the damage to the house.
Does a 2001 Mitsubishi Diamonte with front end damage have any salvage value? If so, about how much could it be? The damage does not extend past half of the hood, except the front 2 airbags have deployed.
I was considering asking the owner to give me the car as barter for damage to the house. If I can get $100 or $200 or even $50, that's better than nothing.
