A couple of months ago I got a call from Capital One's fraud department inquiring about a change of billing address and a subsequent large purchase from Dell. I informed them that I did not authorize any of that activity.
The rep informed me that she would take care of it from here. They issued out a new card and the only thing she suggested was that I contact the credit reporting agencies. That evening I went online to one of the CRA's and added the 90 day fraud alert and that company notified the other CRA's and that was that. No hassle, no joke!
I don't know how the theif got their filthy little hands on my cards # and whatever Id info necessary... it is very rare I use that card for anything! But so far there has been no other suspicious activity with my credit. Now if only there was a no hassle fix for my credit score.
