Based upon all that you've said I assume that your car will be on display in an area visited by others. This raises safety issues not touched on here.
Contact the event organizer to get the ground rules for what you want to do.
1. If you leave the car idling, it will solve the problem of the battery running down. BUT....you'll have a car idling, with keys in the ignition with the potential for kids and others to trigger an accident. Carbon monoxide accumulation in an indoor venue may be an issue.....if it were to involve your car a hundred others.
2. Using a charger may effectively address the carbon monoxide issue but you're still left with keys in the ignition.
3. Talk to the event organizer and others who have exhibited to get a handle on a safe and effective way to exhibit your car.....without becoming the accident waiting to happen.
A friend of mine exhibits often; if you email me, I will get some information from him. He's a retired Chief of Police from a small NJ town so know that he would understand the safety, security, liability and functional issues.
