Sony, Dell, and Samsung (to name a few) have been offering flash drives for quite some time - Sony and Samsung were the first. We have a very high-end Sony VAIO at the office with an SSD - we've had it since last Christmas. It's smaller and lighter than the Air (2lbs), but was $4200 back in Dec 06.
Everything the Air offers is something that's been available for at least a little while - it just adds standard Apple style couple with standard Apple price premium.
It's nice, but I'm not impressed. I'd rather have 4 ASUS EEEs. Or maybe an ASUS EEE and another c900. :P
