All the computers on our 9-5's seem to be the cause for relatively short battery life with these cars. My OEM battery lasted only slightly more than two years because I didn't realize it was the old vented style which needed water level checked periodically. Operator error on my part.
The Saab replacement Interstate battery lasted around 40 months before it failed. My current third battery is almost 30 moths old, so I am listening for weak/slow cranking symptoms to alert me to replacement before failure.
I drive nearly 100 miles per day commuting to/from work primarily on expressways, and typically park in garages which helps with temperatures extremes too. This should be relatively easy duty for a car battery but the life expectancy is still not great.
