I really hate to see production go out of the country, but I drive a Saab because it was a better car when I started driving them 30 yrs ago. Toyota is the most popular car now because they built a better machine.
It will be a long time before I buy Maytag again, their rep is bad. My mom replaced her Kitchenaid dishwasher after 30+ yrs with another Kitchenaid. Nothing wrong with it except some of the vinyl was coming off the wire dish rack and looked tacky. The new one lasted 14mo- 2 mo out of warranty- before the brain fried. $100 labor. 4mo later- 1 mo out of repair warranty- it fried again. 4mo later, you guessed it. She was still on her first box of detergent. Won't be replacing my Kitchenaid with like.
It used to be easy buying good stuff. Now I've got to research and take chances, and if you're right Ari, I'll still get burned. Maybe its time to go green and back to the washboard and clothesline. And horse and buggy...
