Anyone in Europe - a little help please!

Hello, the short story is that my 19yr son is in Europe and his traveling mate had some medical issues and he flew back this morning. My son is currently in Germany and only speaks English and is feeling like the stranger in a strange land. He does have a eurail pass, everything in a large back pack, and is there until the 10th of July (he goes to visit distant relatives in Sweden from the 10th to the 20th and then flys home - maybe he can see the Saab factories - could anyone help?).
If anyone would be able to show him the sites (he pays his way of course) or has any suggestions of things to do where he could speak some english too, I'd be very grateful, and if your family is ever in need of a place to stay in the States (in San Diego - where they just did the US Golf open) the offer is hereby extended.
Doing that father thing....
Thanks,
Lyle Parthemer
