That's great! Posted by Chadwick [Email] (#569) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Chadwick) on Sat, 5 Jul 2008 21:29:19 In Reply to: Teaching my daughter which end of the wrench to use, Noel, Sat, 5 Jul 2008 19:44:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm only 21, and took my liking to cars when I was about 15. Started turning wrenches on my 87 900S. I went from not knowing how to change spark plugs to converting the car to a 5spd and doing a lpt turbo conversion within 2 years (with some help).
While in college I started a Saab repair business, and who knew it would end up paying all my tuition and living expenses through my undergrad. Now it's time for law school, and Saab's alone are not going to cut it =(
My point is that it's great knowledge to have and you never know how it can benefit you. For me, it paid for school, for them, it will save them a few $ and also keep them from getting screwed over by any mechanics down the line (happens all too often to women, sadly, men too though!).
I hope my children will be eager to learn someday, and I hope I have the patience to teach them!
