Every press conference they've had lately they say they need more fuel efficient cars--yet they have them but don't promote them. Think of the Chevy truck "like a rock" campaign-it became like an ice pick to the brain they played it so much. When's the last time you saw a Saab commercial on television? (they do have one they've been showing on the Tour De France, hardly a mainstream audience) You rarely see ads for them even in the enthusiast publications. They've gone to considerable effort to make Saabs more mainstream and yet they make no effort to promote them to mainstream buyers. The 9-3 is priced with the upper level Accords and Camries, why not promote it as an alternative with a little personality? Or for that matter why not promote an all-wheel drive 9-3 Sport Combi as an alternative to a sport ute? What are sport-utes anyway? They're just all-wheel drive station wagons with big tires. I can remember (in the'60s)when Hondas and Toyotas were considered weird, offbeat little cars too. They sure didn't get where they are now by not advertising and promoting them. They spent next to nothing on advertising them and then seem surprised they don't sell.
