Haha..babysit (Ok, this one is a lil long) Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Thu, 11 Sep 2008 11:50:34 In Reply to: B Millar is right..., PGAero [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 11 Sep 2008 10:19:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'll think about it? haha. Ok, no I was just talking about the cylinders, but we could address all issues, perhaps I am doing something wrong (although I don't think so). The car is stored over the course of FIVE months during the winter (so it is pretty cold), to a max of SIX. I know stuff about cars, but not enough to be really able to say that, ok, for five months I do not need any fogging oil in the cylinders...I've heard different answers from different people, and figure why take a risk. So, then if I go ahead with this, it seems like turning it over by HAND is the way to go, although I've never done it. It'd be easier if I saw someone doing it...it'd be my first time. But if all of you Saabers think I shouldn't bother then...perhaps I should rethink.
I've put the car on jack stands, using wood to cushion the beam. I've only lifted it enough so that the suspension is clearly relax but the tires are still on the ground...but still, it is lifted off quite a bit. This is better than NOT putting it on stands...right? It seemed that sitting on the ground, not moving for 5 months is long for the suspension, tires etc. Well I'll be doing this in about 3 months, so I'll continue my "research."
I think the hardest part about this is that I keep getting different answers from different people and it's hard to decide what to do. As always, thanks to you guys for your kind help. Bender
