You can't tell a thing from the typical short rides most people take. My guess is you wouldn't fit in one comfortably. I used to sell new Subarus and had as many as I could get my hands when I had my own used car dealership. In theory I think they're a great car, but driving one very quickly bores me silly. I could never get truly comfortable in any of the ones we had no matter how much I adjusted the seats. After driving one for a few days when I would hop into a Saab or Volvo or VW it was like "AHHHHH" good seats. If you're used to European cars I suspect you'll not be happy for long in a Japanese car. This car is a big leap from where you were in previous posts and I suspect both the car and the payments will begin to chaff very quickly. I would strongly suggest you take a look at an OG9-3. They give a lot of bank for the buck, and have all of the bugs worked out--my NG900 is the most reliabble, cheapest to own Saab I've even had. The amount of seat travel in them is amazing, the biggest I've ever seen on any car. I don't know how the new 9-3 and 9-5 stack up interior size wise but you can get a nice one for a lot less than the Subaru. Other alternatives would be a Passat or Volvo which also have a lot of room. It's tempting to think a late model Japanese car will be all sweetness and light, but in my experience they all have almost as maintenance issues as the European cars--they aren't perfect by a long shot. Rent a car for a while if you need something quick but, think twice and buy once.
