GM Leadership Proves It Has NO Clue..

In an interview morning on NBC's The Today show, GM's president and COO, Fritz Henderson proved that giving GM any money might be a great waste. Henderson was asked by Matt to respond to viewer comments that questioned GM not eliminating reduncy reflected between GMC / Chevy and Cadillac / Buick. His response: GMC and Chevy appeal to different buyers based on marketing survey. Even though a Silverado and GMC pickup looks identical, they appeal to different buyers. And Cadilac and Buick are different in that the former has cutting edge, aggressive styling and the latter has a smooth ride and looks different from a Cadillac.
Listening to that response, I could only shake my head. Here was an example GM leadership saying that the old business model still apply. Unlike the Toyotas and Hondas, they are not capaple or willing to develop streamlined brands that appeal to a broad cross-segment of the car buying population. Lexus' are only slightly different in styling from Camrys. And this practice is reflected in VWs/ Audi, and Nissan/Infinity.
So what's so special about GM? The first step of any bailout should be the resignation of these yahoos!
