I hate it when my family piles things up in the right side (where the disposal is) sink. Then the water gets run and starts to back up and you want to run the disposal, even with the possibility that something slipped off a plate and is in there...
So I'll share my two kitchen secrets to keep order in the household. We use one of those brush on a handle things to pre-clean the dishes and pots and pans, so, I shove that down the disposal and give it a once around to make sure what ever is down there isn't silver ware. Works great!
The other is... for those that don't have a newer dishwasher that says "CLEAN" when the contents are clean... after you empty the dishwasher refill the soap container and close it. Then no more questions about the status of the contents of the dishwasher, like washing it again because you thought it was dirty...
Those, and putting spray and wash on stuff you mess up and putting near the clothes washer (rather than in the hamper where it can contaminate something else... with, you know, grease...) are the secrets to a relationship. oh, there are others, but these are the important ones, other than lid up seat down, which way the toliet paper roll should roll, and about a thousand others.... ha ha ha!
