Guys, I'm having some difficulty with Verizon. I moved into an apartment 2 months ago and had Verizon turn on my TV (fios). I then called about 2 weeks later and had them turn on the internet. The router came with the television setup, so they didn't need to install anything. When I called to get the internet turned on, it was really quick and the guy basically said "ok, youre good to go." Well, I got my bill and they put like $50 of "bonus" crap on there I didn't ask for, so I called to get my service changed back to just basic cable and they said I'm in a contract and there is a $100 fee for cancelling the contract. They say I entered into a contract when I had the internet enabled. My question is.... how can I be in a contract if they never told me I would enter into one, and if I never signed anything? When I called to get the internet turned on, the guy hardly said 10 words to me. They didn't send me anything in the mail or by email. How can they just ASSUME youre in a contract? Doesnt there have to be some acknowledgement on both sides? I'm now at the third level person of their customer service, and they are still saying I have to pay the $100 fee. Thanks for any advice you have.
