think about it...you move to an apartment and request electrical service, you don't sign anything...you request cable, and don't really sign anything aside from the installation papers, which are not "the contract".

I think that by calling and requesting the service you acknowledge understanding of the terms in the service contract agreement....It would have been different if they had offered you the service......

Having said that, I am not a lawyer and don't really understand the legal world, that's just the way I see things...

On a side note, I was going to switch from Comcast to ATT and almost did, just before I placed the order I asked them if there was any sort of time commitment...they said no for the phone and internet, but since the TV (in my area) is provided by Direct TV you must be with them for 24 mo.
