I just returned from Oahu last week, staying right next to Marriott. I hope you got a great bargain on your trip like I did. Here are some tips:

1. Wear a rash guard shirt and use plenty of sunblock, higher the spf the better.
2. The 'bath tub' section of waikiki infront of your hotel is very safe for your 1yr, just buy a floating device from ABC store.
3. Rent a car, if only for a few days. lots of place to see around the island. I got a compact for $12 a day using priceline.com's name your own price feature from alamo.
3. Park at the Banyan condo behind your hotel. They charge $60 for 7 days or $10 per day, I think Marriott charge $23/day.
4. Don't miss the turtle beach on the north shore, almost garantee you will see sea turtle on the beach, but easy to miss because it's not a long stretch of sand.
5. Don't miss the tide pool next to the sharks cove. The surf was rough at the cove but due to the low tide this time of the year, the tide pools next door is very safe and have very good snorkeling. It was not crowded at all during my weekday visit.
6. Everyone want to visit Hanumana bay so go early if you want parking. The lot get full by 9:30 AM and they will let in people through out the day as visitors leave. Buy a waterproof camera if you are going to snorkel there, it's worth it.

That's all I can think of right now. Hope you have a great trip!
