The XR4Ti is a Ford Sierra. The Mondeo didn't exist until the mid '90s. Also, while the T9 isn't exactly a great transmission, it's pretty good and certainly better than the 3-speed '70s technology C3 that automatic XRs got. I lived with mine for almost four years - cruising the freeway at 70mph screaming along at 4000rpm = pain. The 108mph top speed - RPM limited - kinda sucks too.
