Brand availability vs. brand identity... Posted by Clay McNeely [Email] (#497) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Clay McNeely) on Fri, 12 Jun 2009 09:36:51 In Reply to: I second that . . ., DonaldM, Fri, 12 Jun 2009 09:10:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
For me personally, the current offerings from Saab have some extremely close competition. That only means that when I am shopping for a new Saab, I will look at other vehicles, as well. It'd be great to have a Saab that was just so different/intelligent/quirky/advanced/simple/unique that there wasn't any comparison to other makes. That way, when it's time to replace the Saab in the garage, the only option is to replace it with another Saab. Is that possible? I somewhat doubt it. If that were the case, Saab might not be available in the US, or if it were, it would be WAY out of my price range. There's gotta be a happy-medium somewhere, though. In today's market, there is really just one question with two possible answers: what do you want to survive - the Saab name or the Saab identity? Just because it's affordable, available, and has the Saab emblem on it doesn't necessarily mean that I want it or even like it...and I personally feel that is kind of where GM has put Saab. Would I hold it against you if you think that price, availability, and a badge was good enough? Certainly not. Just my opinion. Drive safely and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
