I hate to say it, but the new 9-5 styling is very much main stream. Compare it with the new Ford Taurus, the Suzuki that Red93SEInBrklyn pointed out, and the new Buick (same chassis). Swap noses and the design could be a Camry. The only thing that strikes me as unique is the C-pillar treatment and the grill, although the Taurus has a similar configuration of grille design elements.

The 9-5 may appeal to a wider market because of its styling, and that will be good for SAAB enthusists.

The things that set SAAB apart now, in my opinion, are the high efficiency turbocharged engines and the designed in attention to safety.
