I've been in the medical field all my adult life. Nothing to be afraid of other than how to work with this field. If you are intimidated, you lose. Think of your docs as car mechanics. Not really all that much difference. Even if the docs may think so. These guys are looking at the mechanics of the body, and make mistakes too. It is OK to ask questions, then to go check on the internet to help understand and diagnose. In fact good to do that ahead of time as much as possible.

A good doc will feel comfortable discussing with you the gray areas as long as you are not too demanding. If you are open to viewpoints, so are they.

The suggestion for a 9am, or early appointment is good. First after lunch works well too. And yes, good docs will take more time with patients who need it. That messes up schedules, and may make you late-but not likely 2hrs!- getting into your appointment. If you like your doc, it is a small penalty to pay. As long as they pay attention to you when your turn comes. And yes, my doc has wireless....
