If Saab had to design all cars from scratch, I would say they could not make it. But modern car companies are now integrators, so it is not that hard to build a viable business with a 120K volume. But you MUST have a platform partner. If Saab cannot partner with Opel/VAG/Fiat/Renault for platforms, they will be gone. I think the Europeans will arrange some sort of shotgun wedding, and the Chinese will also step in the save the day. They stand to learn a LOT from Saab which is what probably makes GM and the Europeans very afraid.
