I saw on the local news about 2 months ago the local Ecology (Pick UR Parts equal and first/largest in California) Manager standing in the yard being interviewed talking about the C4C program, in the background you see guys on cars like ants at a picnic, cars hardly on the supports and they are on them pulling stuff just like you and I would to fix their whatever.

I thought it was kind of funny...

Fast forward to 2 days ago, at the local Pick Ur Parts and they have a Primo yard for "newer" vehicles. I check everywhere of course. The Primo yard is wall to wall C4C trucks and SUVs, C4C painted on the rear fender somewhere, the SAME THING as they are still processing C4C trucks and SUVs in, guys pulling wheels off while the thing is in the air in the isle. forklift driver waiting until they finish pulling the wheel/tires so he can make the turn and set the vehicle down on the supports, the engines are painted with nasty jello green so you can't purchase any of the *engine* parts, but the entire rest of the car is just like any other car in the yard, EXCEPT IN BETTER SHAPE, most likely because they were running before they came to the yard.

So, besides the economic boost of not giving money to the car guys ath the top but making them earn it by a sale (which keeps a car sales guy in a job, a dealership open, and the local gov gets sales tax revenue which helps YOU...), it actually puts parts in the yard that people might just be able to use. Sure it's tax dollars, but I'd rather see it trickle up from the bottom on something like this than be given to the top line and let them decided what to do with it. That approach does nothing for the downstream people at all. Remember the bank bailouts? Where is all that money?
