All four Audis that I have owned over the past three decades have had oil leaks - you would think that they would have figured this out by now. Most of the seals are made by the same manufacturer that supplies SAAB, i.e. Elring, I don't understand why the results are so different!
One thing that made a huge difference on my current Audi is the type of oil that I use: Mobil 1 and Penzoil Platinum disappear much faster than Castrol Syntec 10W-40. Have your aunt throw in a quart of Valvoline Long Life 10W-40 (if it's leaking it will need it soon enough) to condition the seals, and next change use Castrol. Or, if she is religious about changing the oil, I have read that regular yellow-bottle Penzoil non-synthethic is a good choice for the V6 (not the turbos), but I prefer using synthetics for the longer change interval.
