I'm going to guess that it won't trip the circuit breaker. I have an air compressor as well, old one I got on craigslist, but it does the job. Is yours 230 volts? The one I have is, and the circuit breaker in the garage is rated at i think 50 amps, 230 volts. I think circuits are designed to not trip right away unless the overload is extreme. Motors take twice as many amps to start up, so otherwise the circuits would trip all the time if they couldnt handle it.
