I have never had an issue with AT&T. Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Thu, 21 Jan 2010 09:03:36 In Reply to: Re: Anything against the iPhone?, dave, Thu, 21 Jan 2010 08:34:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I do not understand why everyone hates at&t so much. I have never had an issue with dropped calls, customer service, anything... My father has a Verizon phone through work. We vacation in upstate New York. I get more service than he does. We went out to Michigan where my grandparents have a cottage on the UP on Lake Superior. Talk about the middle of freaking nowhere... neither of us got service.
We are on a family plan and I had upgraded my phone to a Samsung Blackjack II. About six months later I filled my old 2gb iPod and was looking for an iPod Touch. Saw that the iPhone was the same price... but I had already used my upgrade. So I went in and wanted to upgrade my mom's phone to the 16gb iPhone, but then switch it over to my number. It took like 45 minutes for the guy to do it but he got it to work. Of course about 3 weeks later the 3gs was announced (kicks self) but whatever.
I haven't played with the latest batch of large-screen smart phones, but so far (my opinion anyway) no one has come close the usability of the iPhone. Everything is so intuitive, the browser works flawlessly, and the multi-touch screen is excellent. It took about a week to get used to typing on it. I can go pretty fast and the iPhone basically reads my mind as to what I'm trying to type and corrects any mistakes. It even knows to capitalize the "S" in "Saab." My cousin has a Blackberry Curve and it blows beyond belief. Another friend has some Samsung piece of garbage that LOOKS like an iPhone at least. I'll have to get my hands on the new Google-powered phones to check them out.
