We have a high deductible plan that includes dental. Very affordable. We then max out the associated HSA with 100% tax deductible dollars. We get health plan benefits of lower prices on service and meds, and pay for things using a debit card attached to the HSA. That eliminates filing claims etc. The income tax saving with the HSA are impressive, but that depends on one's tax bracket.
The HSA card can be used for many things such as bandaids, aspirin and other NSAIDs, OTC drugs etc that cannot be claimed on other med plans.
You also have the freedom to use the HSA for things that might be excluded from other plans.
