This would probably be the best thing that could happen to SAAB -- and for all the reasons you site. Porsche is probably the only company that can take on SAAB and gain and maintain clear product seperation. While Boxsters are price in the 9-3 range, their appeal to completely different buyers. The 911s, 993, etc. are not cars Saabs compete with. And the 9-7X crap, Porsche will like be smart enough to see the mistake in that thing being sold under the Saab brand, plus it would compete with the Cayennes (good riddance). With Saab in Porshce, that would immediately re-elevate the Saab brand. And should Porsche return Saab to its place of uniqueness, instead of the me-tooness approach GM, the just might be the ticket to realize a stronger Saab. But wait, with near 50% stake in VW, this would be to good for Audi, would it??
