You don't need the big gun 2 stage blower for your drive and sidewalk. I've owned a variety of single stage Toros, and will second the S2000 as a great machine. I've used it for 17yrs on my drive and a few neighbors. Only replaced the scraper bar so far, but paddles soon. It has a Suzuki engine that sounds like new.
My mom used a Toro S200 for 25yrs and replaced it with a powerlite when the ignition went bad. I fixed and am still running it on light snow. The powerlite was a tiger in any snow but only cleared 16". She used it until she was 88. Adequate for your needs, I think, but no longer available. I fixed up a friend's Powerlite that was 20yrs old and very heavily used. She gave it to me, and I gave it to my brother in law.
I'm guessing you have done whatever in getting a new blower as you are now facing some serious snow. If not, you may have to wait until next year. I've used the 18" Toro 4 stroke, and it seems strong and sells for around $400. I've had good luck with the Toros.....
