Hmm. I just received a postcard from my local Saab dealer (where we regularly take our two 9-5's for service) offering a free "checkup" and carwash, along with a free towing certificate of some kind (I don't have the card in front of me) that gives Saab owners a totally free tow-in to the dealer for some period of time, no strings attached. My Saab is an '01 9-5 Aero CPO that I didn't buy at that dealer.
My wife, on the other hand, has an '04 9-5 wagon, also a CPO not purchased at this dealer. She received nothing in the mail, although she has also been a regular service customer for many years.
I also received periodic e-mail notices from the same dealer that my appointment to bring in my Lexus for service was confirmed, with a date and time. Never owned a Lexus. Took almost a year to get them to figure out how to stop those emails from coming.
Although the dealer's service dept. has been top-notch, their Saab sales people, IMHO, has been more or less asleep at the wheel for about a decade or so, having pretty much relegated their efforts to some outsourced, third-party computerized "service."
